Every marriage will face its up and downs. Often, through support and even marriage counselling, these family relationships can endure. However, there are times when separation may be the best, and right, thing to do. There are some signs to look for to know when separating may be the right option.

Emotional or Physical Abuse

Noone should have to put up with abuse of any kind, but often this is not the case. Millions of relationships contain varying degrees of abuse, often not even recognized as abuse. If you face any abuse in your relationship, then separation is the right option.

The Marriage Has Become One-Sided

If you find your partner is no longer acknowledging you or wanting to spend time with you, it may be an indicator of a deeper problem. IF you have tried marriage counselling, and the behaviour has not changed, or gotten worse, separation may be the right option.

Would you be happier?

How happy are you in your current marriage? Consider this, if you separated from your spouse, do you think you would be in a better place? Would your quality of life increase? If you feel a sense of freedom, or even relief, when you imagine life without this person, then maybe it is time to move on.

It can be difficult to know when separation is the right option, and no-one should face a decision like this without help and support. If you feel your marriage has run its course, and no longer gives you that sense awe it once did, make sure you seek out help and counselling from Kuldip Counselling.
